About the Role

The Physical Therapist is an independent health care professional who is responsible for evaluating referred patients and establishing and executing treatment plans that include a full range of complex treatment procedures and modalities. These treatment plans are designed to restore individual patients to their highest possible functional level and to enhance their adaptive capacities through the use of physical measures, activities, prostheses and or assistive devices.

What You'll Do

  • Major duties may include, but are not limited to: Performs comprehensive patient evaluations.
  • Responsible for providing comprehensive physical therapy care to patients.
  • Demonstrates a full professional understanding of the theories or treatment of Physical Therapy and there proper application through the use of therapeutic physical rehabilitation and reconditioning procedures.
  • Responsible for participating and contributing to the advancement of knowledge and techniques related to Physical Therapy and other related topics.
  • Consults with staff and resident physicians through patient presentations, attendance at discharge planning rounds, specialty clinics, and/or conferences.
  • Identifies, collects, and analyzes appropriate patient care information to provide a database for research activities within the VA system.
  • Responsible for maintaining open communication with patients, families, Medical Center staff and others.
  • Complies with all Physical Therapy and Medical Center Policies and Procedures including patient treatment, documentation, safety, infection control, and HIPPA.
  • Demonstrates tact, courtesy, and a positive approach to communication and interaction with other employees, visitors, physicians, and the public.
  • Presents Physical Therapy, PM&R Service, and Medical Center in a positive manner.
  • Work Schedule: Mon, Tues, Wed, Sat - 7:00am - 5:30pm, Work Schedule is subject to change based on agency need.
  • Telework: Ad-Hoc Only.

Requirements

  • You must be a U.S.
  • Citizen to apply for this job.
