What You'll Do
- →A GS-0080-9, PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST: Responsible for the management and administration of the Intrusion Detection System (IDS) program.
- →Advises the MAJCOM SF IDS program manager of any base or site activities that will impact the Integrated Base Defense Security Systems (IBDSS) program, including, but is not limited to, mission changes resulting in increase or decrease of resources, reconfiguration of resource areas, and construction of facilities on or in the vicinity of current and planned sensor locations.
- →Reports and documents all IDS maintenance requirements to the servicing maintenance organization.
- →Monitors IDS false and nuisance alarms and, when necessary, requests assistance from the maintenance organization to resolve problems and deficiency.
- →Coordinates with maintenance and materiel management functions to ensure sufficient spare parts and maintenance are available to support the IBDSS equipment and component.
- →Maintains Technical Orders and commercial manuals that describe equipment components and operating procedures for IDS in use.
- →Develops local training for system operators.
- →Assists the standardization and evaluation section in developing certification standards for system operators.
- →Responsible for the management and administration of the physical access control systems (i.e.
- →Defense Biometrics Identification System - DBIDS).
- →Manages entry control point (ECP) related applications associated with DBIDS and the Security ForcesInformation Management System (SFMIS).
- →Manages the functional and operational sustainment of all data processing programs such as DBIDS, SFMIS, and other systems installed and/or programmed for the ECP.
- →Produces and maintains and related reports for command echelon personnel.
- →Provides feedback to supervisor regarding identified or perceived base access vulnerabilities with recommendations for their mitigation.
Requirements
- ✓MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Military Grades: SrA-MSgt/E4-E7 Desired Military Assignments: 3P0X1 - Applicants need not be assigned to the position or possess the AFSC to apply or be considered for selection.
- ✓Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED Degree Required: N/A Degree Required to qualify with Education Only (No Specialized Experience): master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims.
- ✓To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
- ✓The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level.
- ✓Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants.
