About the Role
This position serves as a Painter within the Engineering Service at the Columbia VA Health Care System. The incumbent of this position works in the 2nd Shift Maintenance Shop and reports directly to the Supervisory Maintenance Mechanic. Second level supervision is performed by the Maintenance Control Manager. This position performs a full range of duties which includes determining the methods, techniques, devices, and materials that are best suited to the surface finish.

- →Occasionally, he/she may handle materials and equipment that weighs 40 pounds and over.
- →Incumbent is required to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
- →Incumbent climbs ladders and reaches above head level to scrape, sand, putty and paint surfaces in cramped and hard-to-reach places.
- →With assistance, the incumbent pulls a swing stage up as many as five floors, and frequently works from ladders, swing stages, and scaffolding.
Requirements
