About the Role
This vacancy is for a WG - 4102 - 9, Painter located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION FACILITY MIAMI in MIAMI BEACH, Florida.
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as a Painter and be responsible for the preparation, by mechanical and chemical process, and the protective and cosmetic coating of buoys, vessels, structures, and miscellaneous objects.
- →Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
- →Typical work assignments include: Preparing metal surfaces for coating by dry and wet abrasive blasting, by grinding with abrasive disks and wheels, and by chemical stripping methods.
- →Preparing metal surfaces by pickling or through controlled oxidation; prepares fiber reinforced plastic surfaces by filling, shaping, and abrasive sanding; prepares masonry surfaces by mechanical and abrasive blasting methods.
- →Developing coatings of proper color, adjusting hue, intensity and tone to match existing color schemes.
- →Developing coatings of proper texture, consistency, and thickness; diagnoses coating problems, and adjusts application or mixture to obtain desired results adjusting and operating air and airless spray apparatuses.
