About the Role
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a PAINTER - TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD2127000 and is part of the KY CSMS, National Guard.
What You'll Do
- →As a PAINTER - TITLE 32, WG-4102-9, you will prepare surfaces by removing rust, paint, and loose particles.
- →Fill in holes and dents using body fillers and hardeners.
- →Sand and even out dents and scars to assure a smooth and level surface using sanders, scrapers, sandpaper, hand tools, wire brushes, and paint remover.
- →Apply coatings to specified areas ensuring the surfaces are free from skips, runs, and drips.
- →Apply rustproof compound to areas.
- →Apply coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray paint equipment.
- →Prepare coating materials using guidelines set by the manufacturer, by tinting, toning, etching, blending, and mixing in additives needed.
- →Use measuring equipment to achieve the proper viscosity and thickness for applying the coatings.
- →Apply prime, intermediate and final coats of semi-gloss, gloss and other paint, lacquer, enamel, varnish and shellac.
- →Ensure match, texture and appearance meet finish requirements.
- →Replace and apply markings/lettering as specified by manuals.
- →Apply coatings using acceptable methods of the trade.
- →Read and interpret blueprints when applying camouflage patterns.
- →Read and interpret directions that relate to mixture, use, and application of coating materials, solvents, and precoating agents.
Requirements
- ✓Military Grades: E3 - WO1 RANK REQUIREMENT: Member must provide in writing with their application package that they are willing to accept a reduction in rank in order to be qualified for this position, if applicable.
- ✓Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
- ✓CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: You must maintain membership in the Kentucky National Guard.
- ✓You must be assigned to a compatible military position.
- ✓Wear of the military uniform.
- ✓Position may require a pre-employment physical.
- ✓May be subject to furlough actions.
- ✓May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- ✓Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- ✓Must obtain and maintain a favorable adjudication of a T3 or equivalent investigation.
- ✓Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate a military bonus.
- ✓Acceptance of a Federal position will terminate Tricare Reserve Select (TRS) eligibility.
- ✓This position is located on a tobacco free facility.
- ✓This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.
