This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol, Capitol Building, Capitol Building and Capitol Visitor Center (CVC) Operations and Maintenance Division, Maintenance Branch, Painting Section, Day or Night Painting Unit. The incumbent serves as Painter-Decorator Assistant Supervisor. Directs the work of the Painting Day or Night unit. Each unit may include a Leader and a mix of Journey-level Painter-Decorators and Painter-Refinishers.
What You'll Do
- →***This Vacancy is Open to Current Architect of the Capitol Employees Only Tour of Duty: (Day) Monday-Friday (5:30 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.) The employee may be required to work an Alternate Work Schedule.
- →Hours may change depending on the operational needs of Management.
- →The employee is a full Assistant Supervisor with the authority to assign subordinates to any job consistent with the overall plans prepared by higher levels of management.
- →The incumbent assures the efficient accomplishment of work by subordinates.
- →The incumbent is a working supervisor, performing Painter-Finisher tasks.
- →MAJOR DUTIES Performs administrative and technical supervisory functions for subordinates.
- →Assigns duties to, and evaluates their performance.
- →Manages the unit's budget and workload.
- →Develops performance requirements for subordinates and ensures a mutual understanding of the performance standards.
- →Resolves complaints and grievances as delegated by higher level supervisors.
- →Provides leadership to ensure support for equal employment opportunity (EEO) goals and requirements.
