As the Modeling and Analysis Technical SME in the Master Planning and Integration Branch, supporting the Spaceport Development Division, you will support development of a centralized spaceport model, integrate technical requirements into planning, modeling, and analysis, while tracking impacts to spaceport infrastructure. You will evaluate operations impacts from increased launch activity and identify operational risks associated with future missions and help inform future spaceport investments.
What You'll Do
- →Serves as Technical SME for the development and maintenance of an overall interactive, centralized, dynamic, and comprehensive spaceport model.
- →Identifies assumptions, capabilities, and limitations of planning and analysis tools and methodologies such as 3-D modeling, discrete event simulation, Monte Carlo simulations, ArcGIS, and technical analysis of spaceport operations.
- →Serves as a Technical SME, utilizes competencies with intelligent / adaptive systems, simulation systems, software engineering, aerospace engineering, mathematical reasoning, modeling and simulation, research, planning, and evaluating.
- →Applies a variety of computational methodologies to address operations research problems and to lead development of resource allocation models, data profiling, trend analysis, simulation, capacity projections, and classification models.
- →Performs system modeling of current and projected impacts on Center common use infrastructure capacity for areas such as power, wastewater, and propellants, as well as monitoring land use, transportation routes and natural resources.
- →Develops simulations for operational interactions, interdependencies, impacts and potential mitigations with increasing launch cadence, payload processing flows, and overall spaceport operations.
- →Serves as a SME for integration and incorporation of data from evolving requirements, interfacing with existing KSC engineering/operations models, identifying resources required and associated limitations.
- →Initiates development of products ranging from those that detail strategic risk considerations to those that detail planning support for government and commercial partner development and operations.
Requirements
- ✓At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
- ✓Courses acceptable for qualifying for operations research positions may have been taken in departments other than Operations Research, e.g., Engineering (usually Industrial Engineering), Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Management Science.
- ✓U.S. degrees must have been awarded from colleges or universities that are accredited by recognized accrediting organizations.
