This position is being filled under a stream-lined hiring authority, Title 21 of the United States Code (21 US Code 379d-3a) as amended by the 21st Century Cures Act of 2016, section 3072 and the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023, Section 3624. The candidate selected for this position will serve under a career or career-conditional appointment and be paid under the provisions of this authority. This position is being recruited based on the Title 21 Pay Table 3, Band C.
What You'll Do
- →Serves as Occupational Health Physician supporting coordination of emergency medical scenarios and other health emergency operations.
- →Coordinates delivery of appropriate occupational health services for FDA personnel, including nationwide field personnel, within the framework of the established program structure.
- →Supports and implements medical surveillance programs for animal care and use activities, select agent operations, and chemical and biological laboratory activities, in accordance with protocols and standards established at the program level.
- →Carries out the delivery of appropriate medical and clinical services, including immediately responding to life-threatening events.
- →Implements policies for medically monitoring FDA employees based on worksite hazards to prevent work-related illness, injuries, or exposures to hazardous biological, ionizing and non-ionizing radiological material, or chemical agents.
- →Applies and supports continuous program improvement methods, including participating in activities and evaluations of occupational medicine programs and clinics, and reporting findings and recommendations to the supervisor.
