What You'll Do
- →7C is a 30-bed Medical /Surgical Unit and is telemetry capable.
- →As a Nursing Assistant (NA) on our Acute Inpatient Unit, you will provide direct, hands-on care to Veterans with varying levels of complexity.
- →Working closely with licensed nursing staff, you'll help ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care in a collaborative environment.
- →Major Duties: Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, toileting, feeding, grooming).
- →Support mobility and transfers using proper techniques and assistive devices.
- →Obtain and record vital signs; promptly report changes in patient condition.
- →Maintain infection control standards and a clean, safe environment.
- →Respond to patient needs and call lights in a timely, respectful manner.
- →Document care accurately and communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.
- →Work Schedule: Full-time on Days/1st shift with weekend and Federal holiday rotation required, as well as off-tours shift rotation as needed.
- →Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases.
- →When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).
- →Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.
- →Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.

- ✓Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.

- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical evaluation/examination.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
