About the Role
This Nursing Assistant position is on the Long-Term Spinal Cord Injury Unit for the Nursing Service at the Boston VA Healthcare System located at the Brockton, MA campus. This position is full-time evenings, 40 hours per week.
What You'll Do
- →The purpose of this position is to serve as a Nursing Assistant in the fast-paced Nursing Operations Service at the Brockton, MA campus and assist licensed nursing staff, and other members of the care team in the care of the outpatient Veterans.
- →All duties performed will be provided under close supervision/ direction of a RN and the incumbent will refer issues/questions to supervisors or other healthcare professionals.
- →Depending on grade and assignment duties may include but are not limited to: Taking-recording-reporting vital signs accurately Assisting with total ADL care, treatments, including but not limited to bowel and bladder management, feeding patients, and repositioning.
- →Obtaining specimens, properly labeling and preparing specimens for transport for testing POC testing Cleaning/disinfecting rooms/medical equipment after patient use Performs other duties as assigned Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.
