About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency at the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center located at Fort Hood, Texas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized Student Loan Repayment may be authorized Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service
What You'll Do
- →Complete screening of patients to include recording chief complaint, blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature, height, weight, measure and record intake and output, and notify a medical professional of abnormal readings.
- →Apply antiseptic solution for immunizations/skin testing; apply and remove bandages, binders, simple dressings, and hot and cold packs; and physically assist patients in walking, moving, and changing positions.
- →Administer immunizations to patients, from infant to geriatric, as ordered; and observe, document, and report to the medical professional any signs or symptoms of impending reactions.
- →Obtain capillary blood samples and urine samples, perform urine dipstick, input lab requests in the appropriate medical database system, and direct the patient to the lab while ensuring proper documentation is completed.
- →Perform general maintenance duties including cleaning and arranging supply carts; cleaning and sorting supplies, instruments, and equipment; reporting deficiencies in supplies and equipment; and cleaning utility rooms.
- →Receive requests for appointment by telephone, writing, or in person; verify patient eligibility for treatment; and schedule appointments with the appropriate clinic and health care provider.
