About the Position: This position is located at Tacoma, Washington. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Advanced in hire may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
What You'll Do
- →Serve as primary health technician in the Sterile Processing Department (SPD).
- →Performs full range of duties to decontaminate, clean, prepare, sterilize, and distribute medical supplies and equipment used in all areas of the hospital.
- →Rotate among various duty assignments in the section to include decontamination, instrument preparation, sterile storage, and extending operational support of crash cart supplies and equipment to areas throughout the hospital.
- →Conduct equipment testing of surgical instruments to ensure operational efficiency and surgical precision.
- →Account for and processes surgical instruments, to include complex loaner sets for scheduled cases, emergent cases, and clinic/ward instrumentation.
- →Package surgical items individually (e.g., scissors, tubing, instrumentation) or assembles into trays and sets.
- →Check the expiration date on all sterile supply items, removes all outdated items, and rotates the stock.
- →Conduct inventory of sterilized trays and checks package integrity and expiration dates.
