About the Position: This position is located in the Uniform Business Office (UBO), Resource Management Division (RMD), and Madigan Army Medical Center (MAMC), to support and manage the UBO Program, Medical Service Accounts Office (MSAO). Responsible for all phases of the MSAO billing program and follows all potential sources from date of visit/hospitalization to billing completion. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
What You'll Do
- →Determine appropriate itemized billing amounts and uses medical coding systems (e.g., CPT-4, ICD-10) to ensure maximum reimbursement from insurance carriers.
- →Review patient accounts, prepares invoices, processes payments, and manages delinquent accounts to ensure timely reimbursement.
- →Explain billing procedures and insurance benefits to patients and insurance companies and assists in completing necessary forms.
- →Contact insurance companies to verify patient eligibility, coverage, and obtains pre-authorizations or certifications as required.
- →Analyze and resolve billing discrepancies, claim denials, and payment errors by reviewing medical records, financial reports, and correspondence.
- →Receive and respond to a wide variety of correspondence and telephone inquiries from third-party insurance carriers and beneficiaries regarding the billing program.
- →Prepare and write appeal letters with supporting documentation to challenge claim denials or request reconsideration of payment.
