About the Role

A Registered Polysomnographic Technologist works under the general supervision of the clinical director (M.D., D.O, or PhD) or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. This may involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services or patent care and education. A Registered Polysomnographic Technologist can perform the duties defined for a Polysomnographic Technician and may provide oversight of other staff.

What You'll Do

  • General Description: A Registered Polysomnographic Technologist works under the general supervision of the clinical director (M.D., D.O, or PhD) or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders.
  • This may involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services or patent care and education.
  • A Registered Polysomnographic Technologist can perform the duties defined for a Polysomnographic Technician and may provide oversight of other staff.
  • Purpose: Performs procedures with the guidelines established by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and facility sleep program policies and procedures.
  • Complete and verify documentation.
  • Explain pretesting, testing, and post-testing procedures to the patient.
  • Provides in-service to patients on instruction for care and usage of CPAP equipment Executes scoring and processing of portable sleep studies, inventory and tracking of portable sleep study equipment (home sleep testing units) and reports to sleep clinic supervisory regarding all duties and issues.
  • Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Location: Night time Sleep Studies/EEG at the Salisbury medical center sleep clinic.
  • Work Schedule: Friday Saturday Sunday rotating Thursdays 7:00pm - 7:00am Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases.
  • Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.
  • Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.
  • Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
