This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: You will apply complex mechanical engineering concepts, principles and practices sufficient to design and layout HVAC systems and a variety of other mechanical systems and equipment.
What You'll Do
- →This is a developmental position; duties listed below will be performed in a developmental capacity at the GS-11 grade level.
- →At the full performance, GS-12, the incumbent will: Consults with and advises other team members within the Technical Engineering Branch about discrepancies or changes in design of specific features, additions or alterations to existing facilities, requiring their participation in design development.
- →Evaluates field conditions as they apply to overall projects and resolves problems due to site conditions making improvements in the design, construction and operation of future projects.
- →Ensures the coordination of design features and completed mechanical designs with other disciplines (e.g., electrical, structural, civil and architectural) to assure proposed design packages are properly coordinated and completed.
- →Serves as technical authority for mechanical and utility systems in final on-site inspection for specialty and unique projects.
