This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Competitive Service Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is located at McNary Dam, Umatilla, OR, a multi-purpose hydropower project, with missions that include operation/maintenance of the facility for flood control, hydroelectric power generation. Employees working at McNary and living in WA are exempt from OR state tax.
What You'll Do
- →Responsible for a variety of functions in support of the large hydropower plant, fish passage systems, navigation lock, spillway, and other features and equipment of a multi-purpose project.
- →Guides efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, and safety and security systems.
- →Provides professional mechanical engineering expertise on operations and maintenance of mechanical equipment for multipurpose hydroelectric power facility.
- →Serves as project crane operation specialist with competence in the structure, mechanical design, safety features, safety standards and maintenance for a wide variety of cranes.
- →Interfaces with private sector contractors/vendors regarding equipment purchases, services and supplies.
