This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as mechanical engineer with responsibility for developing the design of mechanical equipment and features of large Civil Works construction projects such as multipurpose dams, river navigation structures, fish hatcheries, and fish bypass facilities.
What You'll Do
- →Senior Engineer in the Mechanical Design Section.
- →GS-11 is a junior Mechanical Engineer leading to senior Engineer, GS-12.
- →Prepare preliminary design studies, design memoranda, design calculations, final design plans, and technical specifications for large Civil Works construction projects.
- →Develop preliminary and final design and layout of mechanical systems and equipment utilizing the CADD system as a design tool.
- →Make determinations regarding the compliance of contractors' proposals.
- →Coordinate with other engineers and architects during design development.
- →Furnish technical advice to other engineers and technicians.
