The primary purpose of this MACHINIST LEADER, WL-3414-11, is to lead three or more workers to accomplish trades and/or labor work on a substantially full time and continuing basis. The Leader is responsible to both perform the work assigned by a supervisor and ensures that subordinates completed assigned work consistent with trades and labor standards.
What You'll Do
- →Lead a team of three or more machinists and on a regular and recurring basis assists team members by instructing, demonstrating or providing instructions or training to team members as it relates to skill, knowledge and technical aspects of the shop.
- →Perform journeyman level machinist operations on various aerospace components and other machining projects.
- →Safely sets up and operates various conventional and CNC machines such as but not limited to vertical mills, horizontal mills, lathes, turret lathes, cylindrical grinders and internal grinders.
- →Assist team members by instructing, demonstrating or providing instructions or training to accomplish the set up and operation of various aerospace components or machining projects on various conventional and CNC machines such as but not limited to vertical mills, horizontal mills, lathes, turret lathes, cylindrical grinders and internal grinders.
- →Assist team members by instructing, demonstrating or providing instructions or training in the proper use and application of various precision measuring equipment such as but not limited to micrometers, test indicators, travel indicators, bore gages, gage blocks and ring gages.
