What You'll Do

  • The LPN GS-7 work is of considerable difficulty and responsibility is performed under general supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or provider.
  • The LPN is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Community Living Center clinic and possesses the knowledge and skills for ongoing support, and role development of the LPN.
  • Individuals in these positions will be self-directed in planning, implementing and evaluating tasks and programs assigned.
  • In this restorative nursing role, you will provide specialized, hands-on care that supports Veterans' physical, emotional, and therapeutic goals.
  • Working both independently and alongside Registered Nurses and other health professionals, you will help guide mobility, medication administration, rehabilitation techniques, and continuity of care.
  • This position offers the opportunity to build strong clinical judgment while making a direct difference in Veterans' daily functioning and quality of life.

  • Applies restorative nursing concepts to support Veteran functioning in the Community Living Center and Medical Center.
  • Reports and documents significant patient information accurately and consistently.
  • Collaborates with rehabilitation disciplines to meet Veterans' therapeutic goals.
  • Prepares and administers medications and monitors patients for physical or emotional changes.
  • Responds appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Assesses and supports continuity of care by identifying needs for supplies and equipment.
  • Coordinates with the interdisciplinary team regarding equipment and restorative modalities.
