About the Role
The Licensed Practical Nurse (PACT) Clinical Associate carries out the most complex practical nursing care assignments, which include performing nonstandard and specialized activities sufficient to solve a range of complex nursing problems, under the general review of a Registered Nurse (RN) in the outpatient clinic.
What You'll Do
- →The Licensed Practical Nurse (PACT) uses a systematic problem-solving process in the care of multiple patients with predictable health care needs to provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care.
- →Participates in the nursing process by appraising the individual patient's status or situation at hand.
- →Participates in implementing established teaching plans for patients and their families with common health problems and well-defined health learning needs and suggest any modifications to the plan of care that may be necessary.
- →Facilitates continuity of care by making the appropriate referrals.
- →May contribute to the plan of care by collaborating with interdisciplinary team members, the patient and the patient's family.
- →Performs nonstandard and specialized activities sufficient to solve a range of complex nursing problems of considerable difficulty and responsibility, under very general supervision.
- →Possesses broader knowledge and skills for increased involvement in the development and modification of the Veterans plan of care.
- →Exercises independent technical judgement.
- →Possesses and applies a comprehensive working knowledge of the principles, art, and science of practical nursing.
- →Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 0730-1600; Flexible to meet needs of organizations Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases.
- →When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).
- →Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year).
- →Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.
- →Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.
