About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

- →The Marion VA Health Care System in Marion, IL is seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Community Living Center within Nursing Service located at the VA Healthcare Center in Marion, IL.A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at a Community Living Center (CLC) includes a range ofresponsibilities aimed at providing comprehensive care to residents.
- →Key duties include: Explaining procedures to residents using language they understand, considering individual resident needs.
- →Ensuring a consistent physical and emotional environment for resident-centered care.
- →Maintaining self-control and responding to work situation requirements.
- →Responding promptly to resident calls for assistance and interacting with residents in a courteous manner.
- →Providing emotional support to residents and families to assist them in adjusting to changes in health status.
- →Establishing constructive relationships with residents to promote positive communication and socialization skills.
- →Supporting hospice/palliative care needs as needed based on resident self-determination.
- →Advocating for residents and ensuring respect for their rights to privacy and dignity in all aspects of care delivery.
- →Demonstrating knowledge and skills necessary for complex practical nursing assignments, including medication administration, treatment application and documentation of changes in resident condition to contribute to optimizing resident outcomes as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
