What You'll Do
- →Coordinates with DoW, Dept. of State, the Smithsonian, as well as with the constituent colleges and other University elements as required to direct policy relating to the Command's exhibition program.
- →Responsible for execution of the collection development policy, budgeting, program planning, reference assistance and Interpretation, collection analysis and preservation and research programs.
- →Presents lectures, tours, and hosts meetings relating to NDU-NIC history or aspects of post history.
- →Plans special events which attract the participation of the library staff, the University community and professional colleagues.
- →Maintains liaison with professional community, private collectors, galleries, rare books and manuscripts dealers and the NDU Foundation.
- →Initiates contact with donors and represents NDU in transactions and conveyances of gifts to the University.
- →Formulates and submits to the NDU Library Director budget estimates for all activities of the Division, making provisions for anticipated changes in requirements for all program needs including materials, equipment, training, and the purchases.
Requirements
- ✓Education is not substitutable for specialized experience for this grade level.
- ✓Official Transcripts: If the position you are applying for has a positive degree requirement or education forms the basis for qualifications (i.e. you would not qualify without the education obtained), you MUST submit transcripts with your application.

- ✓You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in a conventional U.S. education program.
- ✓It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying or prior to appointment as outlined above.
- ✓Qualifying education from colleges and universities in foreign countries must be evaluated in terms of equivalency to that acquired in U.S. colleges and universities.
- ✓Applicants educated in whole or in part in foreign countries must submit sufficient evidence, including transcripts, to an accredited private organization for an equivalency evaluation of course work and degree.
- ✓You must provide a copy of the letter containing the results of the equivalency evaluation upon request.
- ✓Failure to provide such documentation when requested will result in lost consideration.
