About the Role
About the Position: Incumbent serves as a Lead Public Safety Dispatcher providing emergency response dispatching of police, fire and medical services to the public by answering emergency 911calls and responding with appropriate personnel and equipment.
What You'll Do
- →Ensures that the organizations strategic plan, mission, vision and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work products and services.
- →Coaches the team in the selection/application of appropriate problem-solving methods/techniques, provide advice on work methods, practices and procedures, and assist the team and/or individual members to identify the parameters of a viable solution.
- →Maintains current knowledge of operations and answers questions of other employees on procedures, policies, directives, etc.
- →Responsible for the receipt and effective evaluation of emergency calls; determining nature of call; prioritizing emergency and non-emergency calls; identify the level of response necessary to provide additional information to the responding units.
- →Provides emergency medical dispatching (EMD) assistance to callers with medical emergencies using the local authority emergency medical dispatch system.
- →Monitors status and availability of police, fire and medical units to assure an appropriate response is made.
- →Maintains reports and retrieves needed statistical information using fire incident reporting system(s).
- →Train new employees on standard operating procedures, internal policies, and industry requirements.
