This position is located at Phoenix Indian Medical Center, Phoenix, AZ. The primary purpose of this position is to function as the Lead Health Benefits Coordinator, assuring the identification of patients who are eligible for alternate resources. The incumbent provides support and technical assistance to Benefit Coordinators and Business Representatives, various clinical and business office disciplines.. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).
What You'll Do
- →Gives on-the-job training to new employees in accordance with established procedures and practices.
- →Creates and maintains on-going changes on written processes.
- →Distributes and balances the workload among employees in accordance with established work flow or job specialization, assures timely accomplishment of the assigned workload, and assures that each employee has enough work to keep busy.
- →Assures maximal identification of persons who have, or are eligible for alternate resources, by implementing screening in and interviewing methods effectively.
- →Verifies eligibility of patients by contacting the nearest SSA or Department of Social Services (DSS) Office, or State Medical Assistance Office.
- →Maintains a tracking system of pending applications for various Medicare or Medicaid programs to ensure the enrollment of patient to said programs.
