About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the NAF Accounting Office on Travis Air Force Base, CA. Eligible for the following benefits: Annual & Sick Leave, Medical & Dental Insurance, Stand Alone Dental Insurance, Life Insurance, 401(k) and Retirement, Flexible Spending Account. Eligible to use base facilities such as; Base Exchange (BX), Gym, Outdoor Rec, Library, Marina, Golf Course, Bowling Center, and Arts & Crafts Center.
What You'll Do
- →Performs a full range of accounting duties using double-entry accounting methods for accounts receivable , accounts payable, revenue reconciliation, payroll back-up, banking or general ledger.
- →Classifies and verifies a wide variety of accounting documents in order to assure their mathematical correctness, completeness of information and prepares control sheet with appropriate accounting codes.
- →Maintains double-entry bookkeeping journals and subsidiary ledgers, posting entries to established accounts.
- →Prepares monthly balances, reconciles accounts and transcribes to general ledger for closeout on all accounts in an effective and timely manner.
- →Traces discrepancies, if necessary, to posting documents, computes operational expenses incurred by individual activities for services provided and assigns charges appropriately.
- →Prepares, examines, verifies, analyzes and files a variety of documents.
- →Ensure proper check and balance procedures are in place to execute the operating financial statements monthly.
- →Responsible for leading the work of personnel assigned to the accounts payable, cashier, banking, and revenue reconciliation functions of the NAF accounting office.
- →Distributes and balances workload among employees; observes work in progress, production, adhere to quality and safety standards.
- →Instructs and trains new employees.
- →Provides input to supervisor on performance, progress, and employee issues.
