What You'll Do

  • DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Serves as a working leader of 3 or more employees in accomplishing trades and manual labor work, requiring the use of moderately heavy physical effort and the use of common hand tools and equipment.
  • Passes on to other workers instructions received from the supervisor, assigning immediate tasks to be performed by individual members of the group led.
  • Ensures that needed equipment, supplies, and materials are available.
  • Sees to it that there is enough work to keep everyone in work crew busy.
  • Checks work in progress and, when finished, ensures compliance with the supervisor's instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines.
  • Demonstrates proper work methods.
  • Answers workers' questions regarding procedures, policies, and instructions.
  • Obtains needed information or decisions from the supervisor on problems that come up during the work.
  • Provides information to the supervisor on the status and progress of work, causes of delays, and overall operations.
  • Assures that safety and housekeeping rules are followed.
  • Loads and unloads equipment and furniture, moves materials using hand trucks or dollies; stacks and arranges for storage.
  • Moves heavy items of furniture and office equipment as required for the applicable conference/meeting set up.
  • Cleans work area such as carpets, etc..
  • Cleans floors using heavy industrial-powered equipment.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • All candidates (to include current employees) are required to include transcripts with their application package.
  • Failure to do so may result in an ineligible rating.
  • Only education from accredited and pre-accredited institutions will be accepted.
  • Foreign education must be evaluated for equivalency in the United States.
