In this position you will use a computerized system for inventory control and provide cleaning and decontamination support through routine housekeeping tasks and manual labor for various levels of Bio-Safety Level laboratories, Biologics Development Module, and other office and administrative areas at the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF).
What You'll Do
- →The duties may include, but are not limited to: Adheres to clean/dirty workflows in a scientific environment, ensuring no cross contamination or breech of containment procedures.
- →Performs lab and containment lunchroom cleaning and decontamination tasks.
- →Transports biohazardous waste, glassware, and laundry from autoclaves to designated location.
- →Cleans, decontaminates, and deodorizes waste containers and carts, lifting and carrying 20-30 pounds of waste.
- →Maintains all restroom supplies such as, toilet paper, paper towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc. in the restrooms, locker rooms and laboratory spaces.
- →Mixes or blends routine cleaning solutions to proper concentration for decontamination process.
- →Ensures that correct quantities of scrubs, towels, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and general biological laboratory use items.
- →Assists in the tracking and stocking supplies used in the laboratories.
- →Provides general laboratory support for NBAF’s Biosafety Level (BSL)-2, BSL-3E and Ag, BSL-4, and Biotechnology Development Module (BDM).
