About the Role

This position serves as an Inventory Manager in the Commodity Management Division of the Logistics Service in the VA Health Care System responsible for the inventory and management of all expendable supplies and durable medical equipment in the assigned area(s), Supply Chain Management Service within the James Mountain Inhofe VAMC, Tulsa OK.

What You'll Do

  • Major duties include but are not limited to: Plans and reviews all inventory processes, functions, and related systems.
  • Conducts wall-to-wall and periodic inventories.
  • Maintains perpetual inventory accounts for expendable items.
  • Develops and supports the creation of acquisition strategies and standardization initiatives to acquire and purchase durable medical equipment.
  • Analyzes data that impact procurement decisions.
  • Conducts market research on product pricing and performance.
  • Researches opportunities for and conducts analysis of potential cost savings, efficiencies, and process improvements using quantitative and historical usage patterns.
  • Utilizes best practices, principles and tools, concepts and methodologies to determine and evaluate supply system performance.
  • Identifies and rectifies inventory management issues.
  • Conducts short, mid and long-term advanced planning for expendable items and durable medical equipment.
  • Performs analytical work to manage, regulate, coordinate and exercise control over expendable supplies.
  • Analyzes and advises customers on supply/durable medical equipment purchase recommendations.
  • Conducts data/information analysis for acquisition planning associated with durable medical equipment.
  • Researches alternative sources for expendable item procurement.
