What You'll Do
- →The incumbent serves as an Advanced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at the point of care within the Northeast Wisconsin Ambulatory Care (NEWAC) Division located at the Green Bay Health Care Center.
- →The Advanced LPN successfully and consistently demonstrates independent technical judgement to care for a complex population with minimal supervisory oversight and utilizes self-motivation and self-direction to carry out complex assignments to include prioritizing and coordinating care.
- →The Advanced LPN functions as a member of the healthcare team and demonstrates an exceptional degree of practical nursing knowledge and skills which are necessary to carry out and provide quality nursing care to a culturally diverse veteran population of varying complexity in a variety of settings within the NEWAC Division.
- →The practice of the Advanced LPN is based on skill, experience, and research and has a direct impact on client outcomes for the assigned area and the facility as a whole.
- →The Advanced LPN possesses the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively apply aspects of the nursing process within a collaborative, interdisciplinary practice setting.
- →This broad and comprehensive clinical knowledge of complex practices and procedures which enables the LPN to effectively implement health promotion and prevention interventions, manage acute and chronic illness states, assist veterans in the attainment of optimal levels of functioning through rehabilitation, and provide supportive measures for the dying patient and their significant others.
- →Work Schedule: Intermittent on Days/1st shift *A Recruitment or Relocation Incentive has been approved for a highly-qualified applicant.
- →An intermittent employment schedule under Office of Personnel Management (OPM) guidelines is a non-full-time and non-part-time arrangement where an employee works on an irregular, sporadic, or occasional basis without a prearranged, fixed tour of duty.

- →Work on Demand: Employees only work and receive compensation when services are actively needed and rendered.
- →Pay and Benefits Summary: Compensation: Paid strictly for the hours actually worked.
- →Leave Accrual: Intermittent employees generally do not earn standard annual or sick leave.
- →Holidays: They do not receive standard holiday pay or in-lieu-of holiday entitlements.
- →Health Benefits (FEHB): Enrollment in the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program is restricted unless specific eligibility thresholds are met-such as an expectation to work at least 130 hours per calendar month for a minimum of 90 days.
