About the Role

This vacancy is for a GS - 0808 - 12, Interdisciplinary Historic Cultural Resources Management Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT DIVISION in NORFOLK, Virginia.

What You'll Do

  • Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
  • Assists in developing, implementing, and managing policies, procedures, agreements, and mitigation plans for historic asset preservation and cultural resource management.
  • Conducts field assessments, site surveys, research, and documentation to identify, evaluate, and determine eligibility of historic and cultural resources, including preparing National Register nominations and HABS/HAER documentation.
  • Engages with stakeholders, responds to complex inquiries, and collaborates with experts to support management decisions, address documentation gaps, and recommend preservation strategies. .
  • Must obtain and maintain a CG-issued National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Warrant and Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) certification.
