This vacancy is for a GS - 0401/0819/1301 - 12, Interdisciplinary Environmental Engineer/Scientist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, SILC-CEU JUNEAU DESIGN/CONSTRUCTION SECTION A in JUNEAU, Alaska.
What You'll Do
- →Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
- →Typical work assignments include: Acting as environmental project manager for execution of projects for environmental restoration, compliance, planning and sustainability.
- →Serving as project manager/contracting officer's representative (COR) for remediation/restoration projects and other initiatives to reduce environmental liabilities.
- →Providing environmental program technical support, guidance, and assistance to design team and project execution personnel, asset managers, planners, real property professionals, support staff and other professionals.
- →Reviewing program and project documents such as master plans, studies, configuration standards, and other technical orders.
- →Monitoring developments in/changing environmental laws, regulations, executive orders and Departmental policies to determine Coast Guard requirements for compliance.
- →Assisting with the application of environmental program policy and execution of program goals and objectives as established by Coast Guard headquarters Environmental Program Office and/or higher authority.
- →Developing scopes of work (SOWs) and estimates for project work; ensuring project data/detail is entered and maintained in approved database of record in accordance with established procedures and protocols.
