You will serve as an INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER in the Fleet Support Team (FST) department of FLTREADCEN EAST. You will be the F-35 LST Corrosion Engineering Lead in Ft. Worth.
What You'll Do
- →You will investigate, research and determine applicability of major modification in order to extend service life, improve survivability, reliability and aircraft safety.
- →You will budget branch resources regarding training, workload execution, workload prioritization, and capability.
- →You will monitor performance or engineering technical analyses, engineering investigations, economic analyses, and support services provided directly to the operational community.
- →You will be responsible for responding/coordinating technical feedback to supportability/maintainability questions from the operating and maintenance personnel.
- →You will analyze/recommend adjustments to specified service life intervals for aircraft weapons and equipment.
- →You will prepare correspondence, technical reports and instructions for submittal to NAVAIR.
- →You will lead a joint team of USAF and USN structural engineers providing fleet support on corrosion issues and will have supervisory responsibilities for the USN engineers.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
