About the Position: The incumbent will lead the St. Paul District's technical library, digital archives, and knowledge management programs. You will preserve historical documents, digitize cartographic and engineering records, and administer geospatial data systems like REAPER. By integrating library science, archival processing, and knowledge management, you will ensure critical mission data is organized, cataloged, and accessible to support engineering, construction, and mission operations.
What You'll Do
- →Manages digital and physical archives, reforming records into digital formats.
- →Establishes digitization quality controls, maintains historical collections, and ensures compliance with records retention and disposition policies.
- →Administers the district technical library.
- →Catalogs, classifies, and indexes materials using OCLC.
- →Manages collection development, interlibrary loans, database contracts, and provides comprehensive reference services to personnel.
- →Manages cartographic collections and georeferenced data.
- →Oversees the REAPER repository, aligns digital archives with the Corps Project Notebook, and scans/georeferences historic maps, deeds, and aerial mapping.
- →Supports District Knowledge Management initiatives to capture, share, and use explicit and tacit knowledge assets.
- →Develops and implements District Knowledge Management and Records Access Management Plans (RAMPs).
- →Collaborates with the Knowledge Manager and Records Coordinator to integrate library, archival, and GIS workflows.
- →Serves on or leads district committees to support the district's information and historical resource needs.
