Joining the Secret Service, Technical Development and Applied Research will allow you to provide specialized technical expertise and operational support to develop and implement countermeasures to threats against protected persons and/or facilities. What You'll Do

  • The selectee will serve as a(n) Information Technology Specialist (Network) in the Office of Technical Development and Applied Research.
  • Typical work assignments include: Installing, configuring, operating, maintaining and optimizing Secret Service data networked equipment, components, operating systems and software, to include computers, printers, fiber local area network (LAN, wide area network WAN) metropolitan area network (MAN) routers, switches, hubs, fire walls, intrusion detection systems.
  • Managing projects, preparing project plans, contingency plans, objectives, schedules, allocating and assigning resources; defining system administration standards and processes for maintaining a sound server and system infrastructure.
  • Defining and developing network standards and processes for maintaining a sound network architecture and infrastructure.
  • Overseeing and providing direction on information assurance, cybersecurity requirements and enforces managerial and operational security controls in accordance with principles established by NIST.
  • Apply for this exciting opportunity to impact the investigative mission of the agency by providing operational support to criminal investigations through the identification, fielding and monitoring of unique or specially tailored equipment necessary to document criminal activity or acquire criminal target location.
  • This Information Technology Specialist (Network) position starts at a salary of $102,415.00, GS -12 step 1, with promotion potential to $187,093 GS-14 step 10.

Requirements

  • Citizenship is required.

  • Submit a credit check after a conditional offer of employment has been accepted.
