The incumbent serves as a Senior Software Engineer within the Office of Information Technology, Executive Office for United States Trustees (EOUST). The position is responsible for leading the design, development, and support of custom applications, web services, cloud-native solutions, and third-party integrations, while ensuring the continued operation and modernization of legacy software systems. The incumbent reports directly to the Chief, Application Services Branch.

- →The duties and responsibilities for an IT Specialist (APPLICATIONS SOFTWARE), GS-2210-14, generally include, but are not limited to, the following: Oversees contractor software development and serves as the technical authority for software engineering across major USTP initiatives.
- →Develops software solutions through requirements analysis, systems flow evaluation, data modeling, and adherence to a modern software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- →Evaluates operational feasibility by assessing problem definitions, requirements, and proposed solutions; recommends architectural approaches that balance technical merit with organizational constraints.
- →Ensures software is developed with emphasis on reusability, automated testing, and scalable infrastructure.
- →Champions continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices that contribute to improved automation, reliability, and security posture.
- →Evaluates, pilots, and integrates AI-assisted development tools (e.g., code generation, automated code review, intelligent testing) into engineering workflows to improve developer productivity and code quality.
- →Assesses opportunities to incorporate AI and machine learning capabilities into USTP applications where appropriate, including natural language processing, document analysis, and intelligent automation of routine case-processing functions.
- →Designs and implements cloud-native architectures leveraging platform services, containerization, and serverless patterns where appropriate.
- →Develops, maintains, and oversees the USTP CI/CD pipeline, ensuring effective use of build, test, deployment, and security scanning tools across development, operations, and security teams.
- →Manage server infrastructure using enterprise-level configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or equivalent platforms.
