What You'll Do
- →This excepted service position is being filled under the provisions of the Pathways Internship Program, which is designed to provide students enrolled in educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with paid work opportunities.
- →The program allows students to be exposed to the work of the government through federal internships while pursuing their degrees.
- →The internship also provides federal managers a ready source of student employees and potential permanent employees upon completion of the program requirements.
- →This position is not a routine telework position or summer internship.
- →Selected applicants will be required, per mission requirements, to physically report to the DOJ OIG office location in which they are assigned and can work the duration of their academic career.
- →If you are selected as an Information Technology Intern, you will work with higher graded staff in support of office programs and activities to gain practical work experience that augments training in an academic course of study.
- →IT Customer Service-Working within the customer service group on a variety of Help Desk functions to include desktop support, mobile device support and various customer support needs.
- →Assisting with the installation of new hardware and/or rebuild existing hardware in accordance with standards and project/operations goals and requirements.
- →Assisting with new user hardware and software setup; contribute to the development and maintenance of infrastructure systems.
- →IT Software Applications- Assisting IT specialists monitoring and on occasion performs limited of duties in information technology and information systems.
- →Assisting IT specialists with project management duties including tracking and reporting on projects through their lifecycle.
- →Assisting IT specialists translate the functional and business requirements of customers and stakeholders into automated application systems and databases.
- →Participating in projects to prototype and pilot new system concepts and enhancements.
- →IT Security-Assisting IT specialists by performing routine Cybersecurity using a variety of monitoring tools to identify and remediate potential security vulnerabilities.
Requirements

- ✓You will be required to provide a copy of your transcript verifying enrollment, GPA and grade requirements each semester/quarter.
- ✓All academic degrees and coursework must be completed at a college or university that has obtained accreditation or pre-accreditation status from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S.
- ✓Department of Education.

- ✓Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the above education requirements if you can show that the foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States.
- ✓It is your responsibility to timely provide such evidence by submitting proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency with your application materials.
- ✓All documentation must be in English or include an English translation.
