The Miami VA Healthcare System's Safety and Emergency Management Service is seeking an experienced and dynamic Industrial Hygienist. Ideal applicants are those who want to contribute to the achievement of quality care standards, as well as the growth and development of a VA academic hospital program. You must be an excellent communicator and team player who is adaptable to the needs of a growing medical center.
What You'll Do
- →An industrial hygienist at the Miami VA Healthcare System plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and health of both staff and researchers engaged in critical medical research.
- →Their work is crucial in developing comprehensive occupational health programs, providing training and education on safety practices, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- →Duties include but are not limited to: Identifying, evaluating, and controlling environmental factors that can affect health and well-being in the workplace.
- →Assist in mitigating risks associated with occupational exposures.
- →Potential health hazards are identified, and analyses of toxic materials are made.
- →Exposure monitoring is conducted, and employees are promptly notified in case of overexposure.
- →Collaborate with Work Area Supervisors to develop compliance training and analyze training needs.
- →Other duties assigned.
- →Work Schedule: 7:30am-4pm (Note: Work schedules are determined and approved by the supervisor.
- →The incumbent may be required to work various shifts on a permanent or temporary basis based on facility/patient care needs).

Requirements
