About the Role
About the Position: Senior Human Resources Specialist responsible for providing management advisory services/support affecting highly complex, frequently changing organizations with a wide variety of difficult personnel actions that are often sensitive and complex in nature. Position may be filled at Falls Church, VA or San Antonio, TX. This is not a virtual/remote position. You must live within or be willing to relocate within a commutable distance of one of the above duty locations.
What You'll Do
- →Provide technical advice and assistance to managers in assigned organizations and operations personnel in the resolution of difficult staffing problems.
- →Advise managers and supervisors in the development of crediting plans to determine the type and level of knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for the recruitment and placement of well qualified candidates.
- →Advise managers and supervisors on staffing requirements, resources, and problems in highly complex assigned organizations, and guide hiring managers on procedural and regulatory requirements governing the recruitment process.
- →Develops long and short range staffing plans to meet forecasted mission requirements, human capital losses, and changes in critical competencies, availability of candidates, career development patterns, and reorganization proposals.
- →Provide guidance on merit system principles, prohibited personnel practices, the development and use of valid selection criteria, and other approaches that help in staffing the organization, improving employee productivity, morale, and retention.
- →Serve as advisor and consultant on the position classification program including position management considerations to program managers, management officials, leadership and supervisors.
