About the Role
This position is being filled under a stream-lined hiring authority, Title 21 of the United States Code (21 US Code 379d-3a) as amended by the 21st Century Cures Act of 2016, section 3072 and the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023, Section 3624. The candidate selected for this position will serve under a career or career-conditional appointment and be paid under the provisions of this authority. This position is being recruited based on the Title 21 Pay Table 7, Band B (GS-12 equivalent).
What You'll Do
- →Counsels or advises individual employees on sensitive or serious problems related to health or life insurance coverage.
- →Assists managers in making proper referrals to external resources for employees with sensitive or serious problems that are directly related to health and life insurance programs or issues.
- →Provides employees and/or their survivors with definitive answers involving complex benefits questions on CSRS, CSRS Offset, and FERS.
- →Works with employees on complex retirement program situations, such as when combining federal service that has been credited under various and dissimilar programs.
- →Advises top-level managers, resolving complex and difficult problems in interrelated Human Resources functional areas.
- →Provides managers and employees with information and interpretations of the agency's employee benefits administration, and other work life programs, procedures, practices, policies, and guidelines.
Requirements
- ✓NOTE: There is no education substitution for the relevant year of experience requirement at the Band B level.
