About the Role

Corrections professionals who foster a humane and secure environment and ensure public safety by preparing individuals for successful reentry into our communities.

What You'll Do

  • The position is located in the Human Resource Management Division (HRMD), Bureau of Prisons (BOP or Bureau).
  • The mission of HRMD is to oversee the development, implementation, and administration of Human Resource (HR) policy and programs addressing the needs of Bureau employees across all areas of HR management.
  • The Branch Chief, Hiring & Talent Services, serves as the Bureau's executive responsible for national strategic direction, governance, policy leadership, enterprise modernization, and regulatory oversight of all Bureau-wide talent acquisition and early workforce integration programs.
  • The Branch Chief directs and integrates national hiring operations, talent outreach and recruitment, onboarding and employee experience functions, and personnel security/background investigations activities across the Bureau.
  • The Branch Chief reports directly to the SES Senior Deputy Assistant Director for Human Capital Operations and functions with wide latitude in determining program priorities, establishing national policy, and directing Bureau-wide initiatives.

  • SALARY RANGE: The salary range for this announcement reflects Kansas City-Overland Park-Kansas City, MO-KS GS-15/01 $150,359 to highest GL-15/10 Washington-Baltimore-Arlington, DCMD-VA-WV-PA $197,200.
