The HR Specialist (Information Systems) is aligned under Veterans Health Administration, Workforce Management and Consulting Office (WMC 10A2), HR Center of Expertise (HRCoE), Compensation.
What You'll Do
- →The HR Specialist (Information Systems) functions to perform consultative advisory services and training, oversight, and compliance, in the HRIS discipline as it relates to managing information management systems related to compensation and pay-related processing data.
- →This position independently functions to provide subject matter expertise in those disciplines for employees in the Title 5, Title 38, and Hybrid Title 38 employment systems within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA).
- →Major duties include, but are not limited to: Advanced understanding of the various HR personnel systems.
- →Mastery of and skill in applying advanced HR principles, systems, regulations, workflows, and practices.
- →Competent knowledge of financial management and the intersection of HR and financial information systems (e.g.
- →DCPS) Skill in providing expert advisory services and/or policy interpretation on complex issues in plain and technical language.
- →Tracks mission critical initiatives, recommends the required system changes in order to ensure successful implementation.
- →Troubleshoots workflow and provides consultations on erroneous pay processing, analyzes effectiveness of compensation automation in HR Smart, and briefs supervisor and team on required remediation steps.
- →Serves as a key team member in program development, testing, and implementation of new or major modification of HRIS systems and databases, analyzing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) outcomes.
- →Provides data analytics for development of a wide variety of written documents including: letters, memoranda, option/decision papers, white papers, cost estimates, reports, QFR responses to Congressional staff, surveys, and action plans.
- →Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm Compressed/Flexible: Available Telework: This position may be authorized for telework.
- →Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.
- →Virtual: This position may be authorized for Virtual Work.
- →Virtual Work eligibility is for current VA employees that are already subject to the return to the in-person work mandate in their current position.
