This position is located within Environmental Management Services (EMS) of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center. The primary purpose of the position is to exercise technical and administrative supervision over subordinate workers in supporting and performing tasks associated with the Environmental Management Services (EMS) goals and objectives.
What You'll Do
- →Duties include but are not limited to: Responsible for assigning staff for routine and non-routine duties on a daily and project-by-project basis.
- →Responsible for the cleaning of all patient areas, corridor spaces throughout the Medical Center, Operating Rooms, and all other areas as assigned.
- →Trains staff and ensures that they are using the patient center cared principles in terms of customer service to patients, patients' family members and personnel.
- →Keeps subordinates abreast of proper methods, procedures and uses of equipment and supplies.
- →Approves leave requests for subordinates, counsels' employees and recommends disciplinary action to a higher-level supervisor whenever non-compliance with policy warrants.
- →Responsible for the coordination of activities with other services, including rearranging work schedules during painting, remodeling and relocation of offices, clinics or patient wards and other duties that help coordinate moves.
- →Routinely inspects assigned areas to ensure the timely accomplishment of employee assignments, sanitation levels are maintained, equipment properly cared for and that associated housekeeping objectives are accomplished in an expedient and timely manner.
- →Performs other duties as assigned.
