About the Position: This position is located within Tripler Army Medical Center in the Directorate of Administration in Honolulu, Hawaii. This is an obligated position. You will be asked to sign an agreement acknowledging that you are aware of the obligation and willingness to be displaced under reduction in force procedures upon the return of the former incumbent.
What You'll Do
- →Administer the Physical Disability Evaluation System program for the Medical Treatment Facility by managing Medical Evaluation Board processing, Temporary Disability Retired List reevaluations, and all associated case coordination activities.
- →Counsel military personnel, retirees, and family members on rights, benefits, and obligations during the disability evaluation process, ensuring full understanding of Medical Evaluation Board/Physical Evaluation Board procedures, and appeal options.
- →Coordinate medical evaluations, appointments, and medical related care for Active Duty, Reserve, and National Guard personnel, safeguarding and maintaining medical information.
- →Refer personnel to appropriate agencies to obtain counseling/guidance on benefits provided by the Department of Labor, Social Security Administration and Veterans Affairs (VA).
- →Advise service members on required medical and administrative documentation by evaluating evidence, facilitating case development, and supporting preparation of appeals, rebuttals, and legal submissions.
- →Deliver training and briefings on the Physical Disability Evaluation System to installation leadership, hospital clinical and administrative staff, and military units.
