This position serves as a Recreation Fee Technician in any organizational unit within the National Park Service (NPS). The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of duties associated with the collection, deposit, tracking, and expenditure of fee revenue and donations collected from the public under legal authorities such as the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act. Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) rate of 8.64% is authorized.
What You'll Do
- →Perform assignments in accordance with all NPS and U.S.
- →Treasury regulations governing the handling of government funds.
- →Assist higher level personnel with auditing fee collection program components/systems (e.g. cash registers, road/trail registers, honor systems, automated fee machines or AFMs, donation boxes, etc.).
- →Assist in completing audit paperwork and documenting findings.
- →Communicate audit results to supervisor.
- →Prepare and complete remittance reports and bank deposits for funds donated and/or collected by others.
- →Review shift reports and count funds collected; Investigate and proactively resolve routine or recurring discrepancies, and track overages, shortages, and errors.
- →Inventory and/or restock fee program supplies and assist with placing orders and preparing requisition requests for equipment/supplies as needed.
Requirements
- ✓Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship.
- ✓Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- ✓Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
