About the Role

You will serve as a FUL-Recreation Fee Technician for the Acadia National Park. This is a Career-Seasonal appointment-a permanent position with full federal benefits. The work season is approximately 91⁄2 months (20 of 26 pay periods). The employee is typically placed in non-pay status from January 10 through April 3.

What You'll Do

  • As a Recreation Fee Technician, you will perform the following duties: Conducts analysis to validate fee transactions and determine the adequacy of existing fee systems and technologies.
  • Evaluates the functionality of new fee related systems or modifications to existing systems.
  • Tests reservation system functionality in automated reservation systems.
  • Provides informal and formal training and education regarding highly technical automated and non-automated fee processes, systems, software programs, tools, etc.
  • Prepares or updates operating manuals and/or standard operating procedures.
  • Troubleshoots technically challenging issues with fee program related technologies and equipment.
  • Assists with auditing fee collection program components/systems (e.g., cash registers, road/trail registers, honor systems, AFMs, donation boxes, etc.).
  • Processes reservation arrivals and departures for reservations.
  • Collects appropriate fees at a park entrance station, visitor center, campground, and fee cannister.

  • Citizen or National.
  • Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
