THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a FUEL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM WORKER (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2711000 and is part of the NC ASO, National Guard (ASO-AASF #1/ Manning Document 4141-225). ***** THIS POSITION IS NIGHT SHIFT *****
What You'll Do
- →As a FUEL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM WORKER, WG-5413-10, you will receive, store, transfer, and distribute bulk petroleum products and provides oversight to lower-graded employees.
- →Validates documentation and fuel received from incoming shipments for proper identification of fuel and examines cargo for proper seals, safety regulations, and environment control systems.
- →Connects grounding wire and hoses and activates pumps, valves, and gages during pumping operation.
- →Takes temperature reading, determine American Petroleum Institute (API) gravity and converts volumes of fuel at standard temperature.
- →Ensures gage, scale, and/or meter readings, amounts of fuel received and issued, and fuel invoices are kept on file.
- →Reports any defects, shortages, or overage in shipments to the supervisor.
- →Performs preventative maintenance checks and services on the fuel distribution system, including lubricating pump bearings, changing strainer filters, and adding anti-algae and other additives to fuels, and obtaining and scheduling required system maintenance tests or repairs.
- →Performs daily visual inspections of fuel facilities to inspect for leaks in storage tanks, surplus fuels, and pollution or fire concerns.
- →Check for proper lighting, fence, and locking systems on a regular basis, as required by Defense Logistics Agency-Energy (DLA-E).
- →To ensure that fuel facilities satisfy minimal criteria, coordinates with the Facility Engineer on necessary safety, fire, and environmental control regulations and procedures.
- →Conducts daily clean-up of storage sites, equipment, and tools.
- →May be appointed as the Responsible Officer per DLA requirements.
- →Accounts for all fuels that are received, stored, and distributed.
- →Performs daily, weekly, and monthly inventory of fuels.
