The position is located in the Office of the CFO, Office of the Executive Director, Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Council (Council). The position of financial analyst is located in the Office of the CFO and is responsible for independently planning and executing activities involving financial research, problem formulation, and analyses, reporting the results of analyses and research, and recommending solutions or changes to current processes and procedures
What You'll Do
- →As a Financial Analyst, you will: Conduct programmatic analyses derived from Council accounting, budgetary, and programmatic data for the financial assistance programs of the Council to provide management information regarding achievement of mission goals and objectives.
- →Independently perform a range of complex financial analyses and evaluations of the Council financial statements and reports, identifying trends and anomalies and other relevant information, both financial and programmatic.
- →Independently develop, recommend, and implement approaches to address current and anticipated problems and issues.
- →The incumbent works closely with management to solve problems.
- →Utilize quantitative fact-finding and analysis techniques, and collects, analyzes and summarizes information from Council accounting, programs, grants, and information systems and other sources to help understand program costs, trends and anomalies to make recommendations for improvements.
- →Prepares various trend analyses and identification of unfavorable trends, situations, ratios, and deviations from standards, etc., as a result of financial analyses conducted of the various financial data for the Council.
Requirements
- ✓The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service.
- ✓One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
