This vacancy is for a GS - 0819 - 12, Environmental Engineer located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, FACILITIES DESIGN and CONSTRUCTION CENTER in NORFOLK, Virginia.
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as a Environmental Engineer and be responsible for serving as an Environmental Engineer within a multidisciplinary architectural and engineering team on design-build projects.
- →Projects range in costs as high as $50 million and run for as long as 5 years in duration.
- →Projects include new construction of CG facilities or repair, maintenance, modification or renovation of existing facilities.
- →Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
- →Typical work assignments include: Conduct environmental audits and inspections to ensure legal compliance, and review and interpret environmental policies, permits, and regulations to advise stakeholders.
- →Evaluate project impacts on natural resources and recommend mitigation strategies to minimize environmental risks and promote sustainability.
- →Analyzes data and develops reports in support of environmental program metrics and scorecards Design and manage systems or processes to address environmental challenges including environmental restoration, planning, sustainability, waste management and pollution control.
- →Monitor project progress to ensure compliance with environmental standards and timelines.
- →Provides environmental program technical support, guidance and assistance to project execution personnel Prepare technical reports and documentation for stakeholders, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address environmental concerns and ensure compliance.
- →Develops, collects, collates and archives environmental program documentation.
