About the Role
***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. Please see Additional Information section below.*** You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the TEST ENGINEERING DIVISION, ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SHIP REPAIR FACILITY.
What You'll Do
- →You will be responsible for initiating and developing the Total Ships Test Program for assigned ships/projects.
- →You will develop the key event schedule in conjunction with the project teams to ensure technically required testing is properly tied to the correct key events.
- →You will oversee and supervise the categorization of work authorization forms, inspection/deficiency reports, etc.
- →You will ensure preparations for the conduct of the test program meet all technical and safety requirements.
- →You will conduct periodic test readiness reviews and meetings with project team members, ship's force division officers, and shipyard managers.
Requirements
- ✓Conditions of Employment Cont: Qualification on any class of vessel as a Lead Test Engineer as described by the Industrial Test Program Administration Manual NAVSEA S9092AC-ADM-010/ITAM is required for selection at the GS-13 level.
- ✓Additional Information Cont: Initial consideration for this announcement is limited to the number of applications listed at the top of this announcement.

- ✓This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements.
- ✓Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- ✓Military Spouse Preference applicants will be placed at the highest grade for which they have applied and are determined Best Qualified (BQ).
- ✓A BQ military spouse possesses knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies comparable to others who meet the competitive referral criteria for the specific position.
- ✓PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ).
- ✓To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation.
- ✓ICTAP Applicants: To be considered well-qualified and exercise selection priority as an ICTAP candidate, displaced Federal employees must satisfy all qualification requirements for the position and receive a rating in the highly qualified category (score 85) or higher.
- ✓ICTAP candidates must provide copies of all of the following documentation at the time of application:?1) agency notice; 2) most recent performance appraisal; and 3) most recent SF-50 or notification of personnel action that includes position, grade level, and duty location.
- ✓Applicants who do not provide this documentation will not receive consideration as an ICTAP candidate.
