You will serve as an Engineering Technician (Mechanical) in the Auxiliary Systems (TRF-322) Shop 38A, Mechanical Division (TRF-320), Repair Department (TRF-300) of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.
What You'll Do
- →You will monitor tasks involving standard trouble shooting and assessments assigned to junior personnel and evaluate the subsequent progress and final recommendations for technical accuracy.
- →You will determine diagnostic and operability tests in assigned functional areas.
- →You will define requirements and alternatives for specialized test instrumentation intended to augment onboard ship and shop capabilities.
- →You will develop test plans and procedures to be accomplished under severe time constraints.
- →You will resolve complex problems with submarine propulsion while in a stressful environment and under constant pressure for rapid results.
- →You will utilize requisite knowledge of equipment/system design features, operational procedures, and performance specifications to complete required tasks.
Requirements
- ✓Experience in a trade or craft may be credited as specialized experience when the work provided intensive knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, methods, and precedents.
- ✓Examples are trade positions with substantial developmental, test, or design responsibilities such as: Planner and estimator who analyzed designs for production purposes.
- ✓Instrument maker or model maker who performed design or development work on devices fabricated. -OR- Certification: Engineering technicians may be certified by the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies, an organization sponsored by the National Society of Professional Engineers.
- ✓Certification by the Institute will be helpful as a measure of the technician's quality of experience.
